Beach
The beach is family-oriented with generally calm water, wide enough for family sports, and has plenty of public facilities located nearby.
Tybee Pier and Pavilion
Located at the heart of Tybee's public beach, the Tybee Pier and Pavilion is a great spot with a spectacular view. Besides being a great Fishing spot, it's also a meeting place for dances, live musical performances, and special events. Picnic tables, a snack bar, and public restrooms provide a perfect spot for families to grab a quick bite and cool refreshments during a hot day at the beach.
The Pier and Pavilion is open daily and has free admission. The pavilion can also be rented for weddings, family reunions, and other social functions.

Dolphin Tours
The bottle-nosed dolphin can be seen playing in their natural habitat. When the sleek, gray fin of the Atlantic bottle-nosed dolphin slices through the salt water, the excitement begins. These fun loving, aquatic mammals are the most intelligent of creatures next to man and are unusually friendly. They frequently come right up to the boat.
Kayaking
Whether you are an experienced paddler with superb swimming abilities or a beginner with little or no swimming skills, sea Kayaking is a fun way to explore the waterways around the island.
Kayak rentals and instructions are available from many different companies around the island.
Fishing
Fishing is a favorite sport of Tybee locals and visitors year around. Fishing is allowed from the beach in many areas as well as from Tybee's main Pier and Pavilion. Rock jetties that are located on the north side of the island is a favorite spot for crabbers, but is also a perfect place for Fishing. A Fishing pier is also available for public use on the backside of the island. The pier borders on the Back River which separates Tybee Island from Little Tybee Island. Offshore Fishing is also available from many companies on the island.
Tybee Island YMCA Fitness Center
This fully equipped fitness center and gym is located one mile north of the Ocean Plaza, next to the Tybee Island City Hall and Library.
Nature Trails
Nature trails are scattered throughout the island. Whether you are interested in a short run for exercise or you want to take a self guided nature tour, the trails are available at your leisure.
Historic Site-Seeing
Many historical spots are available on Tybee Island and the surrounding area. Fort Screven is located on Tybee and is open daily for tours. The Tybee Lighthouse is also a joy and is located on our north end. Other area sites include Ft. Pulaski National Monument, The Cockspur Light, the Tybee Museum, Fort Jackson and of course, Historic Downtown Savannah.
Museums
The Tybee Museum is open to the public year round. Visitors can view artifacts and learn more about the history of Tybee Island, with a particular focus on the civil war era.

Many shops are available in the heart of Tybee's downtown. Gift shops, Department Stores, boutique shops, and beach oriented stores are available.

Old Tybee-Savannah Railroad Trail
Located alongside U.S. Highway 80 between Tybee Island and Wilmington Island, this 6-mile crushed stone multipurpose trail follows the exact path of the historic rail line that once connected Tybee Island with Savannah in the 1800s. A great place for jogging and bicycle riding.
