The Lincolnville Historical Society was founded in 1975 to stimulate community interest in the history of the Town of Lincolnville including, but not confined to, its early government, industries, agriculture, schools, churches, organizations and its people.
The current Board of Directors is comprised of Heather Bilodeau, Diane O'Brien (Secretary), Connie Parker (Treasurer), Joan Ratliff, Barbara Tarantino (President), Doug Warren, and Jackie Watts (Vice-President).
Dues-paying members receive our newsletter which is issued in the spring and late fall. Dues are $5 a year for one person, $10 for a couple. Lifetime membership is $100. To join send dues to: Lincolnville Historical Society, P.O. Box 204, Lincolnville, ME 04849.
The LHS operates the School House Museum during the summer months. Located in one of the town's original one-room schools, the Museum is open Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and most Saturdays 1-4 p.m. from the latter part of June through early October. The School House Museum is located at 33 Beach Road (Route 173) one eighth mile from Atlantic Highway (Route 1) at Lincolnville Beach, Maine. The Museum, which is on the second floor, has a chairlift available. Admission is free.
