The Ocala National Forest located 3 miles east of Ocala, Florida is the second largest Forest in the United States covering approximately 607 square miles. Rich in water resources with lakes, rivers and springs, and protecting the world's largest sand pine scrub Forest, the Ocala National Forest is perfect for swimming, snorkeling and diving. There are four wilderness areas protected and managed to preserve their natural state, as well as equestrian trails and even black bears. The campground located in a subtropical Forest offers tent pads, open and wooded sites, has a swimming beach as well as a 7 mile canoe run with canoes available for rent and scuba diving is allowed for certified divers, come for a wonderful visit and stay in black bear and alligator country, with beautiful wilderness surrounds.
