Peacock Olive and Beef is an organic and biodynamic Farm located on the banks of the Hunter River just outside the town of Maitland in Hunter Valley, Australia.
Peacock Olive and Beef comprises 2000 olive trees and 15 head of cattle. The olive trees comprise a number of table and oil varieties.
The Farm Peacock Olive and Beef in Hunter Valley is biodynamically certified with BFA/ACO.
Our table Olives are Kalamata, Manzanillo and Chalkadiki. The Olives are processed in brine in an air-conditioned room over a period of months until ready. They are then packed in portion-sized vacuum bags.
Our oil Olives are Koroneki, Frantoio and Menarki. Some of these Olives are milled in a traditional cold press.
Biodynamic beef is from cattle reared using organic and biodynamic Farming and animal rearing practices. This means that the Farm, the feed and the health of the animals are monitored frequently, paddocks are not over grazed and pests are controlled without the use of chemicals. No growth hormones, strong drenches, artificial chemical fertilisers or pesticides are used on the Farm. The animals have been raised on their mother?s milk and pasture on the Farm. The animals are kept separate at the abbatoir and are hung for a week at the butchers making the meat even more tender.
