Penfound Lodge

Penfound Lodge in Bude, Cornwall, United Kingdom | Self Catering

Come and escape to the country and enjoy a peaceful, rural relaxing break in North Cornwall.

Penfound Lodge near Bude is a traditional converted stable barn situated on a working dairy farm in a truly tranquil location where you can sit out and relax on the large lawns and enjoy the wonderful views.

While staying at Penfound Lodge you can feed the 2 friendly Shetland ponies, Sugar and Spice. Enjoy a walk on the farm where you might meet the baby lambs and calves and there are ancient woodlands full of wildlife to explore. You might also see the cows coming in for their daily milking.

Just 5 minutes away from Penfound Lodge are the 2 lovely big sandy beaches of Widemouth Bay which are renowned for surfing and dramatic cliff top walks.

A 10 minute drive takes you to the lively seaside town of Bude with its abundance of gift shops, surf shops, restaurants, 18 hole golf course, 10 pin bowling, outdoor sea water pool and of course Cornish pasties and cream tea cafes.

Further along the coast takes you to the Camel Trail, a specially designed cycle path following the line of a disused railway which runs along the beautiful Camel Estuary from Padstow to Wadebridge (6 miles) and if you have enough energy you could cycle on to Bodmin, a further 8 miles. You can hire bikes at several points on the route. A truly good day out.
