Sailing Raft Museum in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil | Museum

Discover the History of the Sailing Raft, known as Jangada, a small centuries old fishing vessel traditionally seen along the Northeastern coastline, and which is used even today by the fishermen along this coast.
Prepared by Ana and Anderson Madeiros, this is a sailing raft exhibition with photographs, traditional clothing and various parts of vessels. These parts were made to order by master craftsmen in the art of making these sailing rafts. Some parts, such as the sail holder carved out of puba wood are already no longer in use, and exist only in Museums. Next to the Sailing Raft Museum, it is possible to see a complete sailing raft, floating on the lake.
