Stair Mill provides two self-catering holiday cottages available for year round rental in the Newlands Valley near Keswick.
Set in the heart of the Lake District National Park of the United Kingdom, overlooking Catbells, Skiddaw and Causey Pike, Stair Mill is in a truly rural location, yet only 4 miles from the bustling town of Keswick.
A former corn mill, Stair Mill has 2 acres of garden and woodland and is an ideal location for those who are looking for a walking base with fells on the doorstep. Alternatively for those who wish to cycle or tour by car, Borrowdale, Buttermere and Derwentwater are close at hand. Secure, lockable cycle storage is available as is ample parking next to the cottages.
Each cottage at Stair Mill, Mill Cottage and The Parrock, has been converted from the original lakeland mill to provide cosy, comfortable and characterful holiday accommodation, both sleeping 6 in 3 good-sized bedrooms. Pets are welcome at no additional charge. The cottages are included in the VisitBritain annual inspection scheme and have been awarded three stars.
Mill Cottage has been extensively refurbished to create a warm, comfortable base, yet still retains many original features of the mill. It has an eastern outlook with fantastic views towards Catbells.
The Parrock is situated on the site of the former stable and workshop and provides excellent views to Causey Pike and to the north, over beck and fields to the foot of Newlands Valley, Skiddaw and beyond. The Parrock gives great views of the red squirrels and various breeds of birds, which are frequent visitors to the feeders in the grassland that runs in the gardens to Stoneycroft Beck. To take full advantage of these views, the lounge and kitchen/diner are on the top floor.
