Life in a Village has a different rhythm. Food is a celebration of the fresh local ingredients prepared with skill and love. At Thai Village Restaurant in Courtenay, Comox Valley, British Columbia in Canada, our specialty is fresh authentic Thai cuisine served on hand painted dinner plates in a relaxed fine dining atmosphere.
Thai Village Restaurant has weekly dinner specials which feature fresh local produce and seafood when in season. We grow our own fresh organic Thai herbs in our greenhouse so we don?t need to substitute these ingredients so important to authentic Thai cuisine. There is no MSG in any of our food and almost every item is gluten free. Choose your own spice level from none to Thai spicy, so everyone can enjoy this truly exotic cuisine. We feature a wine list from several different BC VQA vintners, including Chardonnays and Gewurstraminers that compliment Thai cuisine superbly.
A cold organic Pale ale goes great with curries or a cool, quenching lager works best with the hot spice of chili and the citrus zing of lemongrass and fresh lime.
Chef Kwan grew up with her family?s restaurant in tropical Phuket and from
an early age enjoyed cooking for the love of it. Some 20 years ago she moved
to Canada and worked in several of the finest Thai Restaurants in Calgary before moving to Courtenay, Comox Valley, British Columbia, in 2004 to partner in the new Thai Village Restaurant.
She has revamped the menu with a focus on the most popular Thai dishes prepared with truly authentic ingredients.
