Tor View's Owner Sheila Mears moved to North Devon in 2000 and opened her new home in the village of Langtree as a guest house the same year. Since then, visitors from all over the UK and from overseas have stayed at Tor View. Sheila has enjoyed meeting all her guests - individuals, couples and groups. All have arrived as guests - and left as friends! Whether visiting family in the area, enjoying the many gardens, coast and countryside, cycling, walking, theatrical and craft events, attending festivals, courses, archaeology, adventure, househunting or business - whatever brings them to North Devon - all are guaranteed a warm friendly welcome .
Sheila enthusiastically provides information for guests, supplementing the printed tourism leaflets provided with her own knowledge and experience, varying from a plan for a day in the beautiful surroundings of North Devon and Cornwall; the loan of a map; or even a pick-up from the railway station or coach stop. She teaches English too, to European guests wishing a homestay or host-teacher programme.
The rooms at Tor View are named after the flowers which appear in drifts in the lanes in Spring, which make this area with its natural beauty so special. Choose either the spacious ground floor Primrose Room which is double with private bathroom, or stay in the first floor twin Snowdrop Room with Dartmoor views and ensuite facilities. The Snowdrop Room can also be booked as a triple to accommodate families and groups.
All rooms have TV and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. There is off road parking and undercover secure storage for cycles. Guests are welcome to enjoy the lovely garden with views of undulating open countryside dotted with farms, sheep, cattle and even horses, to be seen in the surrounding fields.
