Warm Earth Cottage offer you a unique experience in Northland where our two romantic cabins are nestled in a valley in the Kaimai Ranges, just south of the mural town of Katikati, and north of Tauranga in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty. They are designed after the old NZ miners Cottages of yesteryear, no electricity, just the warm evocative light of candles and a lantern and an outside bush bath. (lit for you at dusk) Wow.

Relax in the bath with a romantic wine or two, and a complimentary liqueur, with just the sounds of the Waitekohe Stream and the night birds and watch the world and stars go by. Take a wander to the stream to see the glow-worms after dark - magical.

Warm Earth Cottage have two cabins that offer beautifully appointed accommodation and are available for short or long term stays - ideal for honeymoons or romantic treats. Even a night stolen from the world, works wonders for the soul.

Each bush cabin has a pot belly stove to make an early morning cuppa (provided). A late breakfast is at the house or you can have a bush BBQ at the stream or your cabin. All you need is the ability to relax, enjoy the peace - and each other.

Our two romantic cabins, Tranquility and Serenity are both distinctly different and they are set far enough apart to be private. Both cabins have no electricity, just lots of candles and each have their own private outside bush bath for you to enjoy under the stars. Enjoy a leisurely bath with a wine or two and the petite bottle of complimentary liqueur (your choice of flavour).

Each cabin is equipped with quality linen and queen beds, fluffy towels and robes for the bush bath, tea and coffee making facilities and a verandah deck for relaxation and contemplation. You can also chalk your wise or witty sayings or drawings on the blackboard ceiling.

Wake up in the morning in Tranquility to overlook the old fallen Pururi stump and pond. Wake up in Serenity looking across to the Waitekohe Stream and bog garden. Wake to the sound of the tuis, watch the hawk looking for breakfast, fantails, pheasants, wood pigeons. A weekend treat will help you unwind, but a longer romantic break is better.To maintain privacy the bush cabins are separate, however they do share the most memorable timber bathroom and shower you are ever likely to see.

The only blackberry to be found here has either been, or is about to be sprayed or pulled out! Cellphone reception is sporadic at best. (We do recharge in case!)
