The Lizard Marconi Wireless Station at The Lizard in Cornwall, UK is the oldest surviving Marconi Wireless Station in the World, and now also a museum and amateur radio station which are run by the National Trust. Set up by the Marconi Company at the end of 1900 to supply a ship-shore radio service for ships passing Lizard Point, it was also a research centre and monitoring station for the trans Atlantic Poldhu Wireless station at Poldhu Cove, Mullion. The Lizard Lighthouse Heritage Center has distinctive twin towers which mark the most southerly point of mainland Britain, and this landfall and coast mark provides a guid for vessels in passage along the English channel as the waters are very hazardous. Lizard Lighthouse has six adjacent holiday cottages which offer breathtaking scenery and are ideally located for coastal walking with rare birds and flowers in abundance and sometimes sightings of dolphins can be spotted from the cliff tops.
