The Round Island Lighthouse Preservation Society in Pascagoula, Mississippi is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the lighthouse, which was erected on the south side of Round Island, off the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, in 1859. Damaged by several hurricanes over time, the lighthouse base was relocated to a new location at the foot of the Pascagoula River Bridge on U.S. Highway 90 entering the city, and is now protected from storm winds and erosion. Kowloon Walled City Park2015-08-28

The Kowloon Walled City Park is one of the oldest and most significant historic sites in the territory, used by imperial officials in the 15th century and later fortified in 1668. Around 1810, a small fort was added and later a wall garrison city was constructed to shore up maritime defences of China, following the British occupation of Hong Kong Island, and massive stone walls with six watchtowers and four gates enclosed the area. The Kowloon Walled City Park went through a fascinating history through the war, after which high rise tenements mushroomed on the site, and the walled city became a haven for drug dealers, criminal hide-outs, vice dens and even cheap, unlicensed dentists. The decision was taken by the Chinese authorities to build the area into a park, and during clearing many relics were unearthed and incorporate into the design or preserved as exhibits. Today the Kowloon Walled City Park covers 31,000 square metres, and is divided into 8 scenic zones.READ MORE

The John Freeman Walls Historic Site and Underground Railroad Museum in the town of Lakeshore, Ontario is a historic site and family museum in Puce, Ontario built by the descendants of John Freeman Walls and Jane King Walls, who traveled the famous Underground Railroad from Rockingham County, North Carolina to Canada. The Underground Railroad was the first great freedom movement in the Americas dedicated to assisting passengers or fugitives from the slave trade and served to confuse the slave catchers, the passengers would be moved from one station or safehouse to another and eventually on to a terminal in Canada or the United States where there was freedom. The John Freeman Walls Historic Site and Underground Railroad Museum showcases the Walls family cemetery where friends, fugitives and family are buried.
