Iron Ore Heritage Trail
The Iron Ore Heritage Trail in Marquette, Michigan, USA is a multi use year round trail connecting the community to the region's historic sites and human stories as they say. Come learn the story of the Marquette Iron range and 160 plus years of mining ore through interpretive methods for a fascinating journey over 47 miles, with 35 of these surfaced with either asphalt, crushed granite or limestone. You can walk, bike, inline skate or wander through the Iron Ore Heritage Trail into natural places, ride an ATV, horse ride, country ski and even snowmobile depending on the season, this corridor of learning is beneficial to everyone for learning about unique natural resources, the wilderness and iron mining history.
