Kijkduin Fortress
The Kijkduin Fortress in Den Helder was built on the orders of Napoleon who declared the town the Gibraltar of North Holland and noted it's strategic value. Today guided tours are on offer whereby visitors to Kijkduin Fortress can find out information about the fortress in which over 700 soldiers were lodged. There are also permanent exhibitions on the history of the Kijkduin Fortress and a visit is an adventure not be missed.
