Fenwick Island Lighthouse in Fenwick Island has long been an important landmark along the Delaware coast, and still today it's historic significance remains. In the mid Nineteenth century, the United States Lighthouse Board prompted the construction of a lighthouse after many shipwrecks near the Fenwick Shoals.
