Shanty Days is an annual celebration held the second weekend of August. Just like most Wisconsin town-wide parties, there are ethnic foods, music, and beer. Features also include an arts and crafts show, used-book sale, parade, a 5k run/walk, wine tasting, fireworks and a street fair.

The "Concerts in the Park Series" starts every Wednesday evening, rain or shine, at 7:00PM following the fourth of July and ending the Wednesday after Shanty Days. These concerts are sponsored in part by the city of Algoma and various local businesses. The performances are located at Heritage Park, next to the Algoma Marina.
